Leading with purpose: Pan-Atlantic University’s Community Service Success Stories
Pan-Atlantic University, one of ACEEU's members, has developed the Community Service Project (CSP), a collection of unique initiatives to encourage students to serve with social responsibility. CSP is a good example of a university's engagement strategy to foster community development. Some of CSP's initiatives include:
Beach Clean-up to curb the growing threat of plastic pollution.
Donation Drive for orphanages in the Ibeju Lekki community.
Inter-house sport for secondary school students to foster a spirit of community.
Quiz competition to sponsor five top-performing students to register with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Advancing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) in higher education means integrating ethical practices and sustainability into educational frameworks. At ACEEU, we work close with universities in the implementation of projects such as:
SHIFT enhances universities’ ESG performance through the creation of an ESG Impact Index and training, contributing to HEI collaboration, sustainability, inclusion, and governance excellence.
Edu4SDGs focuses on developing emotional intelligence and social responsibility for managing SDGs in universities. We develop educational materials for creating the SDGs Knowledge Hub, and you can also contribute to its development by taking this survey:Knowledge Hub
ESG4SMEs supports professional development in agri-food SMEs by fostering ESG skills in VET learners. We are creating an ESG manager framework, outlining key elements and variables for developing ESG managers in the SMEs.
My name is Angela Hernandez, and I work as an International Project Officer at ACEEU. I’m proud to contribute to our growth by coordinating our first two ERASMUS KA2 projects as lead partner with the German National Agency, Start-DSP and ESG4SMEs. My role involves more than just overseeing implementation and writing reports; it’s about actively engaging with our partners, which I find incredibly rewarding. I also manage the GRIT project and contribute to proposal writing, turning ideas into actionable plans.
At ACEEU, I thrive in an environment that values teamwork, creativity, and cultural diversity. This experience has deepened my understanding of Higher Education's Third Mission and knowledge valorisation. It’s exciting to be part of initiatives like our newly launched project, Rock Your Research, which fosters collaboration and drives societal impact.
