EAN University, Colombia, has been awarded Entrepreneurial University Accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU). The university is the first institution in Latin America and the second world-wide which has successfully passed the accreditation procedure that is awareded for a period of five years.
"Going through the accreditation procedure is not easy. Each institution undertakes a long process of self-evaluation, addresses issues found and ultimately needs to convince the international Accreditation Committee as well as the Peer Review Team visiting the institution that the university fulfills the 15 accreditation standards.", says Professor Thorsten Kliewe, Chair of ACEEU. In line with this, Francisco Matiz, Director of the Institute for Sustainable Entrepreneurship of EAN University, highlights that "ACEEU recognized us not only for teaching entrepreneurship issues, but also for being consistent with our discourse and applying good practices in the internal processes of the Institution.".
"On behalf of the entire Council, I congratulate EAN University for achieving ACEEU's Entrepreneurial University accreditation. In addition to programmes such as EAN BizLab, we were specifically impressed by the way how EAN's overarching concept of Sustainable Entrepreneurship guides the university's leadership, strategy, culture and processes. The university has developed its own understanding of what it means for it to be an entrepreneurial university and has executed this in an impressive way.", Kliewe adds.
