On November 27, Professor Thorsten Kliewe, Chair of ACEEU, contributed a keynote talk to the Innovation Week for Social Transformation in a New World, an event organized by Universidad Iberoamericana, through IBERO Consultores Estratégicos (ICE), and its partners the Institute of Design and Technological Innovation (IDIT) of IBERO Puebla, and the Centre for Innovation and Technology Management (CEGINT) of ITESO, the Jesuit University of Guadalajara.
Professor Kliewe’s talk focused on the creation of win-win situations between universities and their external counterparts, such as businesses and other societal stakeholders. Focusing particularly on collaboration in innovation, different strategies and approaches were highlighted to bridge the gap between the two worlds.
“We always talk about win-win situations, but we could also aim for win-win-win-win situations in which not only universities and businesses benefit but also society at large and even the environment. With a bold vision, and the willingness to try out new approaches, this may become the new normal, not the exception in higher education.”, summarized Kliewe.
Professor Kliewe’s talk was followed by a short discussion before the Innovation Week was concluded.
