ACEEU is pleased to announce that its article on future of quality assurance has been published as part of ENQA’s 20th anniversary publication "Advancing quality in European higher education: celebrating 20 years of ENQA". ACEEU contributed to the publication with its article “The future of QA is qualit-AI-tive: enriching the story of internal QA development with artificial intelligence” written by Thorsten Kliewe and Adisa Ejubovic.
The ACEEU article was featured as part of the section "A look forward to the next decade of quality assurance in the EHEA (and/or synergies with other regions)". This forward-looking piece calls for adding another layer of meaning to existing quality assurance practices by leveraging artificial intelligence and by focusing more on qualitative assessments.
“Hailed as the “next electricity”, AI holds a vast potential to accelerate the development of higher education quality assurance in the decades to come. It can serve as a major ally in the attempt of higher education institutions to capture quality from different angles, derive more insights from qualitative data and ultimately usher in a new era where quality culture is the regular “modus operandi”, rather than merely an elusive academic concept”, says the article. For the whole article make sure to check the ENQA publication.
This article is embedded in ACEEU attempt to bring more novelty and innovation to quality assurance policy and practice and place more spotlight on underexploited avenues in higher education, one of which is AI. In this line, ACEEU has recently won a project aiming to usher in a new era for QA through student engagement and artificial intelligence. For more details check our dedicated project page.
