ECOThink
Project
Enhancing skills in sustainable design, life cycle analysis, and carbon footprinting for environmentally friendly products and processes
The ECOThink project integrates design for sustainability and life cycle assessment (LCA) into vocational education and training (VET) to equip future professionals with the skills needed to calculate and interpret environmental footprints. It aims to develop sustainable practices in companies by promoting responsible product and process design, reducing environmental impact, and improving economic efficiency. The project focuses on teaching students to perform LCA using tools like OpenLCA and the Sustainable Process Index (SPI), enhancing their ability to assess environmental risks. By providing practical skills in sustainability and critical competencies in environmental analysis, ECOThink contributes to fostering innovation and preparing a more sustainable industrial future.
ACEEU's Role: Project Coordinator
As project coordinator, ACEEU is responsible for managing and coordinating the ECOThink project, ensuring compliance with Erasmus+ guidelines and supporting project partners. Key tasks include financial management, organizing the kick-off meeting, and overseeing the development of a comprehensive dissemination strategy. ACEEU will also design the project’s logo, visual identity, and website, which will be launched by month three. ACEEU will also lead the publication of biannual e-newsletters, manage social media outreach, and disseminate project results. Additionally, ACEEU will oversee the implementation of example LCA studies and promote advanced approaches to assess environmental impacts in companies. Finally, ACEEU will lead the creation of a virtual knowledge hub, serving as a central platform for sharing information, tools, and resources related to sustainable product design. The hub will facilitate access to best practices and support the project's dissemination efforts.
