RISE UP Project

Resilience, Innovation, and University Student Empowerment through reflective Climate Education and Action
The RISE UP project seeks to address the mental impact of climate change on young adults by equipping higher education (HED) professionals with the skills to tackle climate anxiety and promote climate resilience. By operationalising the GreenComp framework, RISE UP promotes a transformative approach to climate education, focusing on green skills and competences. The project includes resilience training, ecopsychology, and traditional ecological knowledge, using a co-creation methodology with experts, educators, and students. A key outcome is the development of an Educators Toolbox and an innovative assessment for cross-faculty implementation. Through interdisciplinary events and a Knowledge Exchange Hub, HED professionals will be trained to strengthen students' resilience, empowering them to become agents of change and helping build more sustainable, regenerative communities across Europe.
ACEEU's Role: Project Lead
As project lead, ACEEU brings its extensive expertise in project and quality management, ensuring the effective management and implementation of RISE UP. With over 20 successful Erasmus+ projects and a proven track record, ACEEU will oversee communication and collaboration among partners, fostering a positive working environment. In WP1, ACEEU leads the steering committee and manages the project’s quality systems. In WP2, ACEEU, alongside UNEC and SYNTHESIS, adapts the GreenComp framework and develops the policy paper and toolbox for climate resilience education, also organising a key face-to-face meeting in Germany. For WP4, ACEEU supports the development of a hackathon guide and organises one of the six planned hackathons, while leading post-evaluation activities. In WP5, ACEEU contributes to dissemination efforts, conducting a stakeholder involvement workshop, developing the involvement strategy, and hosting a showcase event to maximise the project's impact across Europe.
