SHIFTing Higher Education Towards ESG Excellence: Kicking Off the ESG Impact Index Project

ACEEU is thrilled to share exciting news about one of the latest projects, SHIFT – ESG Impact Index in Higher Education. Partners met for the first time in an online kick-off meeting in December 2023, marking the commencement of the mission to support the capacity of Higher Education Institutions to contribute to the SDGs by assessing and implementing ESG strategies and policies through the project ESG Impact Index platform.

The project's key objectives include equipping HEIs' students, academics, researchers and staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement and monitor ESG practices and reinforcing transnational cooperation by facilitating the sharing of best practices and knowledge among different stakeholders.

The first meeting was characterized by enthusiasm and collaboration, setting a positive tone for the entire project. Each work package leader made a detailed presentation outlining the tasks, timeline, and distribution of responsibilities among the partners for each work package. Partners wasted no time in diving into work programs to define the project's next steps.

In this project, ACEEU will lead the “Certification on ESG Impact Index in Higher Education” due to its unique experience and expertise in certification processes. With extensive experience in supporting universities to assess their impact and drive meaningful change, ACEEU is well-positioned to develop a rigorous, evidence-based certification process. Our expertise in accreditation and institutional excellence allows us to develop a process that not only recognizes higher education institutions for their ESG efforts but also guides them in making a lasting difference.
