In an effort to foster sustainable financial literacy among the younger generation, ACEEU recently organized a local event at Hansa Berufskolleg in Münster. Hansa Berufskolleg, a local vocational education and training (VET) school, provided the perfect setting for this initiative. With its focus on equipping students with practical skills for the future, the collaboration between ACEEU and Hansa Berufskolleg was a fit to promote financial literacy among aspiring young individuals.
The facilitators leading the event were Prof. Dr. Thorsten Kliewe, Chair and CEO of ACEEU, and Aventia Wilona-Jülich, ACEEU's Manager for Operation Strategy & Excellence and the Project Manager for DisFinLit. The session was conducted entirely in the German language, catering to the local audience and fostering comprehensive engagement within the group.
The primary objective of the event was to widely disseminate the pivotal outputs, outcomes, and achievements of the project. Particular emphasis was placed on exploring various avenues to effectively utilize the results of the DisFinLit project, notably the Compendium of Good Practices and the Training Modules. Beyond solely sharing project outcomes and endorsing the Community of Practice, ACEEU leveraged the event as an opportunity to practically implement the training units developed by the project. This involved actively engaging the attendees to assess the adaptability and customizability of these training units in real educational settings.
ACEEU and DisFinLit partners strongly believe that the event in Münster left a significant impact at the local level. The event served not only as an event for further communication and dissemination of project outcomes but also facilitated a feedback session. We were able to adapt the session to gather more ideas and feedback on how to tailor the specific needs of the target group. Thus, the event's purpose extended beyond multiplying the project's impact; it also sought to bolster the sustainability of its outputs. By engaging the participants in the discussions, receiving feedback, and trying out some of the topics in the training units developed by the DisFinLit project, we ensured the flexibility and adaptability of the project results across diverse educational levels. In essence, the event provided invaluable insights into both the adaptability and long-term sustainability of the project’s outcomes beyond its initial life cycle.
