As a key participant in the SKILLS4WATER project, representing ACEEU alongside partners from the University of Cadiz, H2O People, the University of Nis, and the University of Galati, ACEEU Executive Director Adisa Ejubovic actively engaged in the SKILLS4WATER Innovative Training Programme (EJWP7) held in Nis, Serbia, from March 12th to March 14th, 2024. Hosted at the University of Nis (UNI), the training program aimed to enhance participants' soft skills within the water sector, forming a crucial component of the broader SKILLS4WATER project.
Throughout the sessions held at the Rectorate building in the city center, ACEEU delved into the curriculum, focusing on interpersonal communication skills under the guidance of Naomi Timmer from H2O-People/EJWP. These sessions, covering personal leadership, communication styles, and intercultural communication, provided ACEEU with invaluable insights into navigating diverse professional environments.
ACEEU demonstrated a strong commitment to understanding and embracing cultural diversity within the water sector, aligning with the ethos of inclusivity and collaboration promoted by the SKILLS4WATER project. Engaging actively in activities aimed at fostering cultural awareness and leveraging the potential of diverse teams, ACEEU contributed significantly to the collaborative learning environment.
Furthermore, ACEEU actively participated in peer coaching sessions, demonstrating dedication to personal and professional growth. Through intervision sessions, ACEEU leveraged collaborative learning and reflective practice, benefiting from feedback and insights from peers and partners alike.
The SKILLS4WATER training program culminated in a field trip to a local water company "Medijana" offering ACEEU practical insights into the industry's operations and challenges. Additionally, ACEEU contributed expertise to the round table discussion on the added benefits of European projects for soft skill development, showcasing the collective knowledge gained through the SKILLS4WATER initiative.
ACEEU's active engagement throughout the SKILLS4WATER training program exemplified the project's dedication to enhancing soft skills and fostering collaboration across European partners for the advancement of the water sector.
Skills4Water is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships project funded by the European Commission, running from September 2023 to August 2025. With partners from the University of Cadiz, ACEEU, H2O People, the University of Nis, and the University of Galati, it focuses on higher education, aiming to develop skills and mindsets related to sustainability and digitalization in the water sector.
