The I-RESTART project has reached a new milestone, advancing into its next phase with a pivotal meeting held in Brussels from February 5th to 7th, 2024. Hosted at the EIT House and organized by the Department of Food Science (AU FOOD), the event was conducted exclusively in person, bringing together key project partners to collaborate on shaping the curricula design.
During the meeting, partners shared valuable insights and actively contributed to refining the project’s focus areas. Building on the qualitative findings from the “Skills Needs Identification” activities, they began developing Lines of Competencies for the Animal Production, Food Industry, and Veterinary sectors. These competencies focus on critical skill categories such as Digitalization, Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, Soft Skills, One-Health, and emerging trends specific to each sector.
A Line of Competencies is defined as a set of knowledge and skills required to master specific competencies. These newly developed lines will address the urgent need for upskilling and reskilling the workforce in the agri-food and veterinary industries, helping to meet the evolving demands of the sectors.
The partners will continue to work on this task in regularly scheduled meetings, with further updates expected in the next project newsletter. Stay tuned for more information as the I-RESTART project progresses towards shaping a more sustainable and skilled workforce in these vital sectors.
