Lisbon hosted the International ACEEU Forum "Engaged Research and Intrapreneurship for Societal Impact: Creating Legacy through Action”, from September 18 to 20, 2024. This event brought together experts from various fields to explore how higher education can drive societal change through research and entrepreneurial thinking. A key highlight was the GRIT project’s workshop, "Skills in Action for Civic Engagement and Professional Success", which integrated results from the GRIT and Be21Skilled EU-funded projects.
The workshop showcased gamification as a powerful tool for learning, helping participants develop critical skills for perseverance in their careers and making an impact on society. Tools like Journaling, Lego Serious Play, and Role Playing were used in interactive exercises involving fictional personas, allowing participants to apply these strategies to real-world challenges. This approach fostered emotional intelligence, self-reflection, and problem-solving, earning high praise for its dynamic and engaging format.
GRIT also enriched panel discussions "Intrapreneurship/Entrepreneurial Thinking and Acting in Higher Education" and "Engaged Research for Societal Impact," emphasizing the importance of perseverance and resilience for academic careers. The event concluded with discussions on integrating project outcomes and planning for upcoming milestones, continuing GRIT's mission of equipping researchers to thrive professionally and contribute meaningfully to society.
