This innovative tool is specifically tailored for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) operating in rural areas and aims to support businesses in integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices effectively.
Building upon insights from the "ESG4SMEs Summary Needs Analysis Report and The ESGMR Management Framework. our team has identified the unique ESG challenges that rural SMEs face. This profile was created following an extensive, three-step methodology. It aligns with GreenComp and EntreComp frameworks and addresses the unique characteristics and operational contexts of rural SMEs, from micro-enterprises to family-run businesses and larger structured organizations.
The profile defines three key roles essential for managing ESG activities: the ESG ANALYST responsible for understanding ESG performance and compliance; the ESG OPTIMIZER, focused on implementing sustainable practices to improve operational efficiency; and the ESG LEADER, who guides strategic direction and promotes a sustainability-focused organizational culture.
