The SDGs University Knowledge Hub, an online platform within the initiative of EDU4SDGs project, is aimed at enhancing sustainable development in higher education. Rich with digital resources including publications, videos, policies and reports, this online platform is a key tool in the project which allows users to dive deeper into the key areas of SDGs, emotional intelligence (EQ) and micro-credential pathways.
Earlier in 2023, a survey was held among the users of the Knowledge Hub regarding their interactions on the platform. The participants answered questions under the sections for educational status, the SDGs awareness, EQ, learning and career development. The results have turned into valuable insights helping us to further the project and contribute to advancing the impact of higher education to the SDGs.
The Hub, beyond being a repository for knowledge, is also a platform for skill development and collaboration. The results of the survey highlight the demand for sustainability-related education, with 69% of respondents recognizing the importance of SDG knowledge in their professional lives and 70% expressing a desire to learn more about how they can contribute to SDGs. Emotional intelligence was also identified as a critical factor, with 63% agreeing that EQ can strengthen their commitment to SDGs.
By integrating EQ-driven education, sustainability knowledge, and career-oriented micro-credentials, the SDGs University Knowledge Hub marks a significant step in equipping the academic community with the tools to drive meaningful change.
