On October 27, the consortium partners of the Circular Loops project (entitled “Circular economy from social enterprises to their customers”) met virtually for the project’s kick-off event and to discuss the status quo and the next steps of the project. While all partners would have enjoyed a trip to Austria, the current Covid-19 pandemic made it simply impossible for the consortium partners to meet in person in the beautiful city of Graz.
Next to project management related elements, the meeting also served as an opportunity for all partner representatives to get to know each other better. In addition, the meeting featured a guest inspirational presentation of Matthias Neitsch, President of RREUSE (BE) and CEO of RepaNet (AT). As the project integrates partners holding a diverse set of backgrounds (including social development, entrepreneurship, waste management), this presentation contributed to developing a common understanding of the current challenges and potential solutions for a circular economy.
Following this kick-off event, all project partners are going to work on the creation of the project’s first intellectual output, namely the description and analysis of inspirational practices that integrate circular economy approaches in social enterprises as well as other organisational forms.
