The second transnational partner meeting of the project "Digital Citizen Science: Network, transfOrm, groW", short for Citizen Science NOW, took place earlier in November at the premises of the Science-to-Business Marketing Research Center. Hosted by the project management team at the Münster University of Applied Sciences (MUAS), the meeting brought together the project international partners representing BESPOKE- Manyone (Denmark), University of Twente (Netherlands), University of Barcelona (Spain), and ACEEU (Germany).
As responsible for Quality Assurance, Dissemination and Sustainability, ACEEU introduced the activities carried out on the first project result. However, the two-day meeting focused on the finalisation of the first project output, the Future Foresight Research Report on the widening of participation in Citizen Science (CS), as well as on the planning of the development of digital capacity-building resources for and with citizens.
During 2023, the consortium will work on developing digital training resources for citizen social science that would be taken up by higher education institutions, NGOs, and public organisations in their engagement with the community for joint knowledge development.
It is essential to highlight that the project's research phase has raised interest among the target groups and stakeholders on the relevance and importance of capacity building among citizens for effective participation in CS. The consortium has had the opportunity to introduce our research results at the ECSA conference in Berlin, where the project received positive feedback from CS practitioners, encouraging us for the upcoming steps!
