The PAGES project is committed to combating ageism on a global scale and fostering intergenerational cohesion within communities. At its core, the project aims to empower adult educators and community workers with the skills needed to engage older adults in meaningful learning experiences.
In its first phase, PAGES introduced the initiative "EngAGing Older Adults in Learning: A Continuous Professional Development Pathway for Adult Educators." An essential part of this phase included an awareness campaign designed to challenge and address ageism at the local level. During the piloting stage, 10 adult educators from each participating country tested the training materials and methods, evaluating their effectiveness in engaging older learners.
In this regard, ACEEU’s role as a quality assurance partner has been instrumental in shaping the evaluation framework for the project, ensuring that all activities meet high standards of quality and impact. We developed a comprehensive set of evaluation tools, including guidelines for assessing the effectiveness of the programme, pre- and post-training surveys to measure the quality of the activities, and a satisfaction questionnaire to gather feedback from the participants. These tools have been vital in refining the programme and ensuring it meets its goal.
