ACEEU is proud to have attended the first WATERLINE Project Academic-to-Business Webinar, which successfully brought together 65 participants from academia, industry, and other key stakeholders. The webinar was a great occasion for businesses and industry
leaders to explore how the WATERLINE consortium is fostering digital innovation in academia for the water sector.

The meeting featured presentations from WATERLINE experts:
1. Water Scarcity in Czechia – Dr. Eng. Petra Oppeltová from MENDELU opened the session with an overview of the drought and water scarcity issues in the Czech Republic, setting the stage for discussions on how digital tools can enhance water management.
2. Climate-Induced Challenges in Finland – Körber Jan-Hendrik from Turku University of Applied Sciences, Finland, shared insights into how climate change is impacting water resources in Finland and the potential for digital innovations to address these challenges.
3. Digital Water Solutions – Prof. Giacomo Falcone from the University of Reggio Calabria, Italy, presented relevant findings from the WATERLINE project, highlighting how digital technologies are reshaping the water sector and providing solutions to long-standing challenges.
4. Integrating EdTech in Water Education – Edwin Zammit, WATERLINE project coordinator from MCAST, showcased educational technology in student learning. A key highlight was a prototype demonstration of a digital water learning environment, accessible at this link: waterline rig
5. Capacity Building and Sustainability in WATERLINE, led by Dr. Agnieszka Cuprys from NMBU, showcased capacity-building efforts and sustainability activities undertaken within the WATERLINE project towards its long-term impact.
