Following its Inaugural Meeting, ACEEU had the pleasure of hosting the second meeting of the NUDGING Ethical Council for a collaborative discussion on shaping the council’s role in ensuring the ethical application of nudges and self-nudges in higher education. The online session took place on February 14, 2025, and built on the foundations established in the first meeting, fostering insightful exchanges among members.
The meeting kicked off with a warm welcome and a recap of the first session, ensuring all members were aligned before diving into key agenda points. One of the key achievements of this meeting was the formal agreement on the composition and structure of the Ethical Council, reinforcing the foundation for its future activities.
One of the highlights of the session was the engaging workshop led by ACEEU, where members were presented with real-case scenarios on the ethical application of nudges and self-nudges in education environments. This participatory workshop allowed members to train and prepare themselves for their future role in reviewing the nudges and self-nudges developed within the project. The discussions were highly interactive, fostering a collaborative approach to ethical decision-making.
Ethical council members responded positively, emphasizing the value of hands-on discussions and the practical insights gained from the session.
Looking ahead, two more Ethical Council meetings are planned for April 2025, where the council will further discuss the review nudging results of the NUDGING 360° project.
Stay tuned for more updates as the project continues shaping the ethical use of nudging practices to increase digitalisation in higher education!
