In February, Next Door partners met for a transnational project meeting, which was hosted virtually by ACEEU. The final output from IO1 was presented – the Next Door Methodology is here! - and translations are underway to increase accessibility in all partner countries. Wrapping up IO1 means the consortium is now focused on IO2 – the Digital Tool.
The digital platform has been created! All partners have been actively developing and contributing content for this online resource to connect the elderly and their neighbors, and those who want to help with those who need help. Final adjustments are being made to the platform by IT professionals and it will soon be publicly accessible. Local organizations will be encouraged to promote their services and expand their networks here.
The upcoming multiplier events target local organizations that can benefit from this portal as a platform to reach more volunteers and people in need, as well as well as connect with other service organizations. These multiplier events will also facilitate user testing of the Digital Tool.
Next Door partners have also begun working on the Awareness and Capacity-building Programs, for which Aproximar and ACEEU are co-leaders.
