On November 26, 2024, the Bridges By Mentors project hosted its Transnational Validation Workshop online, gathering 23 participants from six countries. The workshop aimed to validate and refine two key project outputs: the Service Delivery Manual and the Guidelines for Training International Students to Become Mentors. This interactive session offered a space for participants to provide feedback, ensuring the materials meet the needs of their diverse contexts.
The workshop began with a warm welcome and an overview of the project and its objectives. Some sections of the Service Delivery Manual and Training Guidelines were then presented, highlighting areas where the participants previously gave feedback. Breakout group discussions followed, allowing smaller groups to dive deeper into these materials, share perspectives, and address specific questions. These discussions provided feedback on the structure, content, and practicality of the documents.
The session concluded with a live poll and a wrap-up that summarized the key takeaways and outlined the next steps for refining the documents. Participants expressed their appreciation for the interactive and collaborative nature of the workshop, noting the relevance of the materials to their work. The feedback gathered during this session will be essential in finalizing the documents to disseminate them to the general public. The team looks forward to incorporating the feedback received and moving closer to delivering comprehensive tools that empower international students to become effective mentors.
