How can mentoring become a powerful tool for building trust, creating belonging, and encouraging cultural understanding?
This was the focus of the last project meeting hosted by the University of Nicosia in Cyprus in March.
Bridges by Mentors partners gathered to share their experiences from the pilot testing phase of the project, including challenges faced and success stories. Time was taken to reflect on how to improve the design of the mentoring activities by guiding mentors in the use of reflective questioning techniques to encourage deeper dialogue during mentoring activities.
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to refine and strengthen the project’s communication and dissemination strategy. Led by ACEEU, a collaborative Golden Circle exercise helped reaffirm the project’s purpose and direction, setting the stage for more impactful communication.
Through dynamic brainstorming, the project partners aligned on a clear and impactful value proposition:
“For international students looking for a sense of belonging and local youth seeking to broaden their horizons, our mentoring outreach programme is a powerful tool for fostering intercultural awareness and understanding of different perspectives, resulting in more inclusive communities.”
Building on its expertise, ACEEU will play a key role in advancing the project’s dissemination efforts, ensuring that the social media strategy authentically reflects the core values of Bridges by Mentors.
Stay tuned for more updates as the project continues to grow.
