ACEEU represents MicroGuide at DAAD seminar on micro-credentials in Higher Education

On December 6, 2024, the Chair of ACEEU, Prof. Thorsten Kliewe, participated as a panelist in the DAAD Bologna-Hub Online Seminar on "Micro-credentials in Higher Education: From Strategy to Implementation," which attracted over 230 participants. The panel discussion featured Monica Bravo Granström from the University of Education Weingarten, Neill Wylie from the South East Technological University, Mirna Zeman from the FernUniversität Hagen, and was moderated by Tim Maschuw.

During the session, Prof. Thorsten shared valuable insights from the Microguide project, which focused on developing guidelines for implementing micro-credentials in higher education. He also showcased ACEEU’s experiences and best practices in this area, emphasizing the role of micro-credentials in fostering lifelong learning and employability.

The seminar was a dynamic platform to exchange diverse perspectives on micro-credential strategies and their practical implementation in Europe. The high level of audience engagement and enthusiasm highlighted the critical importance of micro-credentials in shaping the future of education.

This session reinforced the need for collaborative efforts across institutions to establish micro-credentials as a central part of higher education. ACEEU looks forward to seeing these discussions translate into actionable outcomes driving meaningful change.
