Over the period of an intense three-day Learning, Teaching and Training Activity hosted by Fundația „Alături de Voi” România (ADV România), ComEnt partners had the opportunity to carefully go over the materials developed so far for the Community Enterprise Development course. In this exercise, project partners debated the most effective ways to organise the course, ensuring that none of the materials was overlapping between partners and created an action plan for the next stages which includes the piloting of the course by the Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest in the upcoming semester.
The three-day training event was enriched with multiple interactions with local social enterprises. The first day included an introduction to ADV, an NGO whose mission statement is integrating people with disabilities. Often the meals during the training activity were carefully selected so as to visit innovative social and community enterprises such as Rode si merinde whose aim is to stimulate the community around the city of Iasi and the by building a sustainable and fair regional food system. Another unique visit was to a scented soy candle store called Flair Scent where their social mission lies in the fact that they hire people from disadvantaged backgrounds and offer free workshops to children in foster care centres. On the final day of the training, ComEnt partners visited La Timp Association which offers therapy services to children with special needs to integrate them into the community and their families in the form of counselling and psychotherapy.
Overall the three-day training in Romania provided ComEnt partners with the space to examine and discuss the details of the course materials developed so far and finalize the concrete steps in the final stages of the project which will include running the course, recruiting students to take part in it and finally planning the details for the final conference which will be hosted by ACEEU in December.
