University of Nicosia (Cyprus) has implemented the first MYFuture Impact Days for Policy Makers. Impact Days are organised to showcase the value of student mentoring as the project reaches out to policy makers, public administrators and external stakeholders. The event also serves to raise the visibility of the project and disseminate its outputs as part of our high-impact strategy.
The Cyprus event brought together 17 decision makers in public policy and administration, along with university students, teachers and mentoring program coordinators. Apart from engaging key experts and officials in a discussion on the value and impact of student mentoring in Cyprus, the event also generated ideas for new initiatives and partnerships. For one thing, the University of Nicosia was asked to consider developing a mentoring program to support teachers in public schools across the country. It was also suggested that the university could offer training in mentoring for the members of Cyprus' Ministry of Education, and particularly for those who work with vulnerable children in schools.
In the coming weeks, the MYFuture Impact Days for Policy Makers will be held in the Netherlands, France, Bulgaria and Spain.
